What is Reforestation?
Each year, we lose around 10 million hectares of forest globally—an area the size of Portugal. Trees clean our air, filter water, provide habitats for 80% of land-based wildlife, support jobs, store carbon, and are vital for medicine. As deforestation and wildfires rise, reforestation is more critical than ever.
Participants will plant two native North American trees to take home and nurture, while learning about reforestation efforts both locally and globally. All supplies and saplings are provided. Additionally, for each participant, WeHero partners with One Tree Planted to plant eight more trees, amplifying the impact.
