What is Reforestation?
Each year, we lose around 10 million hectares of forest globally—an area the size of Portugal. Trees clean our air, filter water, provide habitats for 80% of land-based wildlife, support jobs, store carbon, and are vital for medicine. As deforestation and wildfires rise, reforestation is more critical than ever.
Participants will plant two native North American trees to take home and nurture, while learning about reforestation efforts both locally and globally. Participants will either assemble a germination kit to grow at home or prepare a seedling to be planted locally. Each group completes one activity type.
To expand the impact, WeHero donates additional trees so the total equals ten trees planted per participant. The Impact Tracker below automatically updates based on your group size and can be customized for your event.
