What is Hero Bears?
Military deployments usually last between six and twelve months, posing significant challenges for military families, especially children. Stuffed animals, particularly bears, offer comfort and a sense of security during these times. These cuddly companions help children feel more in control and provide emotional support as they navigate the challenges of a loved one’s absence.
Participants will assemble stuffed bears and craft personalized backstories for each bear, providing comfort and support to children with deployed family members. All materials, packaging, prepaid shipping labels, and supplies are provided. Learn about the nonprofits who work and create an impact through this engaging activity.
