(Re)Introducing... HeroTab!

WeHero’s mission is to give 10,000,000 people the tools to volunteer and give back easily and effectively, in order to make the greatest social impact possible. We work towards this goal by providing corporate volunteer programs that give teams and corporations the opportunity to come together, do good, and create tangible change. We love what we do, and we are continually amazed by the impact of our corporate volunteer events, partners, and participants. That being said, we have always looked for ways to do more.

Back in May of 2019, the combination of some WeHero brainstorming, creativity, and an unwavering desire to generate impact, led to the birth of the WeHero Browser Extension. You may be familiar with the extension - we love talking about how easy it is to take something that people do every day (opening tabs), and convert it into donations, without costing the end-user a penny. We’ve shared the extension with friends, family, partners, and companies, and have made an incredible impact! Now, after a year of tabbing, we decided it was time to give the extension a name that lives up to its impact.We are so excited to (re)introduce…. HeroTab!

Same impact, new name. After weeks of deliberation, we decided that the name, HeroTab, ties together the goals of WeHero with the action of tabbing - creating a perfect representation of the extension!

HeroTab transforms your “new tab” page. Each time you open a tab, you will be greeted with a new image, the amount raised, and a small banner ad. We collect ad revenue from the page and use it to donate to the causes you are supporting. HeroTab provides an easy and transparent way to ensure that 100% of the money you raise (just by web browsing!) is donated to the nonprofits you care about.

WeHero is committed to growing our impact. Focusing upon that goal, we work to consistently add and update the nonprofit partners supported on HeroTab. Back in June, WeHero recognized the imminent need to support the fight for racial equity and social justice so we added Black Lives Matter and National CARES as causes available for support on HeroTab. Since adding these two nonprofits, the HeroTab community has provided funds to activate individuals in the fight for social justice and has supported the mentorship of underprivileged children of color.As always, WeHero is committed to helping companies and individuals generate an impact for the causes they care about. HeroTab is a great way for ALL individuals, team members, and companies to create an impact. So, let’s share the news and get busy tabbing!
