We understand it can sound strange paying money to donate your time. In most cases when you're volunteering as an individual you don't have to open your wallet for simple activities. So why do WeHero volunteer programs cost money? Let's take a look under the hood.
WeHero doesn't facilitate volunteer experiences for individuals but rather for teams of people. Sometimes this is 10, other times it's 1,000+. When coordinating an experience for a team, we have a team of event planners and non-profit relations folks that create the greatest experience possible for a team. We like to say they handle everything from A-Z which they do to make sure the team is making an impact and having fun along the way.Like with any job, we need a little financial support to make sure these folks are fed.
Many of our volunteer experiences require the sourcing of many goods that will eventually be donated to a given cause. Tree saplings, disaster relief supplies, healthy food and hygiene items, educational materials, are all examples of goods that are sourced and then donated after the volunteer event. We develop as many relationships as possible with the suppliers of these goods to keep the costs as low as possible.
Many of our custom volunteer experiences with WeHero support onsite include a photographer and cinematographer. This is an important cost for the following reasons:
Many clients have come back to notify us that the price of the event was all worth it just for the impact that the media pack created.
WeHero goes above and beyond to make these volunteer events amazing for you and your team. We also invest a lot of time and energy into making sure these events are making the greatest social impact possible. We act as the connective tissue between non-profits and corporations and we work tirelessly to make high impact volunteering easy and accessible for all.
